Eat chocolate lose weight, well I have heard and read a lot of rubbish online when it comes to losing weight, but chocolate!
This one would have to take the cake.
Of course, a part of me would love it, if it were true I just adore eating this sweet treat.
I have a real sweet tooth, and if this delicious treat is one of those foods that help with weight loss. Then I’m on board this bandwagon that’s for sure.
You know the old saying, if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is!
A book written by Dr. Will Clower, aptly titled ‘Eat Chocolate Lose Weight‘. Suggests you eat chocolate 20 minutes before, and 5 minutes after lunch and dinner.
This will apparently cut your appetite by 50%.
Maybe I could give this a go, however, if I am feeling hungry and pick up a piece of chocolate for weight loss 20 minutes before I have my lunch. Then it may very well be my lunch.
According to an article in Body and Soul. A study conducted on participants who ate chocolate regularly showed they had a lower body mass index (BMI) than those in the study who did not eat it.
What was not recorded, was the type of chocolate they were eating, or how much each person ate. One could, therefore, assume, there is no such thing as eating too much.
I have discovered along the way a lot of conflicting advice. Really? I hear you say, conflicting! I know, I know, just like the conflicting advice about goji berries and fish oil benefits and the list goes on.
There is just as much research on how to eat chocolate lose weight, as there is for eating it and putting on weight.
All depends I think on what you want to believe, and who sounds the most convincing.
According to Dr. Stephen Chaney, it is a myth chocolate does not put weight on. He makes a very compelling argument.
Eat Chocolate Lose Weight Studies
A team of researchers led by Dr. Beatrice Golomb, at the University of California. Conducted a study on 1000 volunteers men and women had their intake of chocolate and exercise per week recorded.
Results of this study are published in Internal Medicine.
What they uncovered, was those who ate chocolate sparingly or not at all had a higher BMI (body mass index) than those who did eat this yummy extravagance regularly. It seems Golomb’s findings are everywhere, in magazines and every web page I looked at.
This is obviously the missing link, eat all you want, but make sure you exercise!
The Spanish did their own weight loss research. This time, it was for teenagers aged between 12 and 17. It revealed those teenagers who ate large amounts of chocolate per day, had lower fat and weight with chocolate than those who didn’t.
Well, I certainly don’t have the body of a teenager, and I surely can’t get away with eating too much. I could try, but I’m not so confident my metabolism would cope.
If you are at perimenopause or menopause stage in your life, as I am, eat chocolate lose weight, is not going to happen. However, it is a surefire way to set off hot flushes.
Books On Chocolate Weight Loss
There are many books written on this subject when it comes to weight loss.
Lose up to 20 lbs in 8 weeks – With Chocolate, The Chocolate Weight Loss Diet, Naked Chocolate to name a few. I have not had the pleasure of reading any of the above books, I am sure they are all credible.
What about a website I stumbled over for a ‘Chocolate Diet’. I have no idea what this is about, I can’t even imagine the type of diet recommended.
What about eating chocolate cake and biscuits for breakfast as a way to lose weight? This is another type of diet apparently doing the rounds. I mean really, who wants to have this sort of food for breakfast, I couldn’t think of anything worse.
Best to stick to a healthy breakfast in the mornings, thank you very much. I am pretty sure it is a far better way, to improve health and weight loss.
Eat chocolate lose weight, well, not for breakfast anyway.
Dark Chocolate And Weight Loss
It seems it is the dark chocolate we should be eating.
To reap the rewards from eating dark, it must also contain 70% cocoa or higher. Green and Blacks have a dark one which has 85% cocoa, I buy this one a lot.
However, I much prefer to eat a dark chocolate made from cacao and not cocoa. Cacao is even better for your health, the only problem is I don’t see dark chocolate with cacao very often.
Healthy Eater has a list of the best and worst dark chocolates.
Eating a small amount of dark a day around 28g is good for helping fight the aging process. This I already knew, yet I was unaware it could help a person lose weight too.
Years ago, I remember watching a program on Opera and she had some guy on her show talking about ‘how to fight aging’. He recommended a small piece of dark chocolate daily.
Now that small piece a day may help control cravings, stabilize blood sugar, cut a person’s appetite, lower cholesterol and blood pressure levels, (I make no medical claims here), and help you lose weight.
You can even melt your favourite dark chocolate and apply it to your skin to help prevent stretch marks.
Dark chocolate has flavonoids, the same antioxidant found in dark green leafy vegetables. Not only can you eat chocolate lose weight, you should have a beautiful complexion as well.
If you prefer to eat milk chocolate, then all you get is sugar and calories. It is the dark variety for better health, aging, and weight loss.
Liberty Voice has written an article about a new study looking at a chocolate pill. It is only a matter of time before this pill, will no doubt become a reality.
Well, it seems dark chocolate and weight loss is the way to go. Although I have consumed a small piece of dark every day for helping to fight aging. When I think about it, I have not put on any extra weight because of eating it either.
I can’t say it has helped me lose weight, as this has not been my goal.
Of course, I will stick to enjoying my milk chocolate as the occasional treat!
Eat chocolate lose weight with dark chocolate only.
